I have been painting large abstracts for over thirty years. Three years ago I decided to try my lifelong desire to shape wood. The sculptures I am creating are made from slabs of mainly reclaimed hardwood that have been shaped to reflect the natural movements of nature whether it be the effects of wind or water. I then relate the shapes created back to personal feelings and situations. I feel this emotional link guides me as to the final shape and gives them life.
I am always experimenting with new ideas and techniques and like to think I never stand still even though I do sometimes find myself drawn back to previous shapes and patterns.
